The Canadian Society for Critical Animal Studies (C-CAS) is a society for academic and activist animal advocates that meets biannually in a Canadian city. Formally called the North American Association for Critical Animal Studies (NAACAS), we held previous meetings in Toronto (2022) and Edmonton (2025).

We are a sister society to EACAS, the European Association for Critical Animal Studies. While EACAS meets in odd years, C-CAS meets in even years.

Our 2026 meeting will take place in Montreal, August 6 - 7, on the topic of Animals at Large: Wild, Feral, and Free-Living Animals. See the Call for Abstracts for more details.
